1. What does the following status for I-485 exactly mean? (As stated on USCIS website)
“…..FP results received and processing resumed”

2. If the 485 status states the above message does it also mean that the FBI check or name check is completed?

3. What other steps are involved in the process flow after the status changes to “FP results received and processing resumed”?

Thanks!

You may still have to wait for Name Check

This means that VSC has recd. the results of your FP from FBI. You Name Check/Security Check is still pending I guess. It can take anywhere from a few weeks to many months for the same.

who does the name check? Any idea on why they would state that FP is received when name check is not cleared?

Thanks

name check and fp are totally different.. see the forum for namecheck. be patience till the name is cleared. or call USICS for status on your case.

OK I will take a stab at this

1) This means what it states. Pretty straight forward. USCIS has the results from FBI. It is a good sign.

2) Maybe. This is tricky. The name check is supposed to be done at the time you submit 485. 85% of name checks are done within 72 hours per FBI if there is no hit against your name. We have seen some members whose 485 gets delayed in name check or it was never requested by USCIS (few cases). You need to send an email to FBI name check program to get the real answer. They take 3-4 months to reply  There is also an internal name check which is done right before USCIS approves your 485.

3) You get an approval or RFE.
