Its been 90 days since BCIS received my rfe response. I remember reading somewhere that BCIS has an obligation(??) to adjudicate a case within 90 days of receiving the rfe response(I know many people are waiting longer than that). I can't recall the exact details, does anybody know anything about it? If there is any such thing, maybe I can make that as a basis to request a congressional inquiry.

Hi,

It has been 180 days since they received my RFE response. I may also use for my case the idea that you are having.

What is in a name? A rose by any other name is still a rose! (I challenge anyone to come up with a worse analogy? or, is it a simile? or neither.... :D )

BCIS can take over 90 days. Their policy is that they will give a response if your RD (I485, I765 etc.) is before their official backlog date. We all know how they sandbag the official date (i.e. my I485 RD was 12/18/01 and case was approved in 9/17/03) to postpone inquiries.

Incidentally, I launched an inquire since my AP application was taking longer than their timeframe guidelines. The response simply confirmed the delay and stated it would take longer. No time frame. This is a prateorian agency that knows it's recipients are usually powerless to do anything about their high handed treatment.

Praetorian! How appropriate. Now, I have trouble imagining Ashcroft in the role of a Roman Emperor? :)

Thanks Sadiq, for coming up with that delicious term. I have not seen it used in some time.
