8th yr stamping in Vancouver without 7th year stamp on PP

hi,

I would like to know if this is okay to do. I have my 8th year extension approval and I would like to go to Vancouver for stamping. I do not have a stamp on my PP for the 7th year but I have the one before (stamped in St. Louis)

Is it okay to go to Vancouver for 8th year stamping without any Visa stamp for 7th year. Some people told me if there is a gap in Visa stamp I have to go to my home country (India). Is this true?

Yes you can go for stamping anywhere as long as you have valid I-797, never been out of status and have other documents mentioned on the website to prove your case. If there is a gap in stamping it does not matter, visa stamp is used just to enter the country and it does not determine your status in country.
