My 6th year H1b was expiring in Aug 2005. I applied for 7th year extension in June 2005. My employer got a letter stating that since it was 7th year ext. some fees are waived. But they send the documents along with the letter. Nowhere in the letter did they specify that we had to resubmit the application. In dec. 2005 we called back asking for the status and they said that there was no application in the system. So we resubmitted the application by Jan 3rd 2006. In the notice it said that it may take 90 to 150 days. My question is, is it possible to apply for 8th year extension in a couple of months while the 7th year ext application is pending, so that I get the priority.
