8th year H-1b visa at New Delhi Embassy: iIme?

Can any of you give me any first hand info of amount of time required (in days) to get a H1 b visa stamp at New Delhi Consulate if its a straight forward case (8th year extension based on pending GC app), previous H-1 from same company stamped in Ottawa, Canada.
I heard a rumour its taking weeks to get a visa in India from US embassy.
