I had received the request to submit my papers for my H1-B 8th year extension on Feb/02/2006 and I responded to that email
and submitted my papers immediately.
Since I had to travel on a business trip between Mar/01/2006 - Apr/20/2006, I was told that, they won't be able to file my H1-B 8th year extension during that period. But something went wrong and my H1-B extension were filed on Mar/29/2006.
After I came back, I brought this into my lawyer attention and they have decided to file one more extension application. Due to my personal situcation, I have decided to file it through premium processing. This premium application went out on Apr/26/2006.
On May/06/2006 I had received my 8th year extension approval papers and noticed that, it contained my old I-94 numbers. Also the receipt date on the i-797 approval is Mar/31/2006. This implies that, this approval may be based on the first application submitted on Mar/29/2006.
So my questions are....
o Does it mean that, I will be receiving one more approval sooner or later for my Premium process?. My lawyer claims that, I will be receiving one more approval for premium processing.
o My current I-94 numbers and the I-94 on the H1-B approval doesn't match with each other. Is that ok?. Rather my I-94 number on my H1-B approval notice matches with my older I-94 number, which I had returned during my business trip to India. Again my lawyer says it is ok but I never understood then why would they had applied second H1-B extension application if this is ok.
Assume that if I don't receive another approval, because my friend thinks that I won't receiving one!..
o My current I-94 (the one which I received during the port of entry) expires on coming Sep/2006. My I-94 with H1-B approval notice expires next year Sep/2007, but this I-94 number matches with my old I-94 number. After sep/2006, Am I going to be out of status?.
Any input would be greatly appreciated…
