864 Filing Questions Please

I am petitioning both of my parents. Clearly I need an 864 for both of them. The question is as follows:

1. Can I do one and then list the other parent in part 3 (list other memebers immigrating). Make a copy for the other parent. Sign both in original.

2. OR do I need to do separate for both parents?

3. Does this need to be notarized?

Thank you in advance!

I-864 instructions, page 3:

Do I Need to Submit a Separate Affidavit for Each Family Member?

You must submit a Form I-864 affidavit of support for each intending immigrant you are sponsoring. You may submit photocopies if you are sponsoring more than one intending immigrant listed on the same affidavit of support. Separate affidavits of support are required for intending immigrants for whom different Form I-130 family-based petitions were filed. For instance, if you are sponsoring both parents, each will need an original affidavit of support and accompanying documentation since you were required to submit separate Form I-130 visa petitions for each parent.

It's better to make 2 different I-864's instead of photocopies, IMO :)

It doesn't have to be notarized.

Good luck! :)

Jewel - as always thanks for your help!

I am planning to do separte forms for both my parents - it's easy enough to do.

The part about notarization really confused me. Of course there is no such requirement as per USCIS but I am reading about it in few other forums.

I presume it's outdated?
