Hi. 824 for my wife was received on Nov 30, 2005 by CIS (california) and now they are processing March 2, 2005. I have contacted CIS through my lawyer and also myself. They took my info (my GC number and my address) and told me they will let me know about the inquiry within 30 days.

This is very frustrating, do you folks suggest anything? Dhaka consulate will not start the process without an official 824.

Will it help to contact my local congressman? Is there any sample letter available somewhere?

Thanks

Hi

I am confused??? Do you mean they received the I 824 Nov 2004?? you say Nov 2005?

What does the processing time say on the receipt notice for I 824??

If it has gone 30 days past the processing date you/your attorney or congressman can do case status enquiry

If processing time has not been reached then sorry but you will just have to wait till they get round to processing Nov 2005 Plus a further 30 days

Once approved they should notifiy the consulate that wife is approved and she will then be sent information on the compeletion process.

You can do case status enquiry 30days AFTER they start to process 30th Nov 2005. If you do case enquiry before they will just tell you to wait your turn

I know this because I tried to expedite I 824 for son. The only way they will expedite if there is a life threathing case

I can feel your pain, it is so upsetting being apart from your loved one

Its Nov 30, 2004. It was a typo

Hi

Ok

You have a receipt date of Nov 2004.

The online case status says CSC is processing I 824's for May 2005 so it does seem you can start to ask questions

Contact Senator or congressmans office, ask them follow up on your case. Also call the CSC on the 1-800 number as you are concerned case is lost
