I would really appreciate if anyone can help me in this.

I am in my 7th year of H1B valid till June 3 2005. I am trying to find a company who has a certified labor. If I go through the process I have to do a H1 transfer.

I heard roumours that if I do H1 transfer from employer A to employer B , that I should go out of US to get a revalidation done before I start work for Employer B.

Irrespective of which year you are in, I heard this is the situation.

Can anybody verify this?

thanks

>>>> As you are saying its a ROUMOUR... You only need Visa stamp if you need to travel out side US & re-enter. For just changing employer or continuing with extension you only need Approval not the stamp.

It all depends upon H1-B (I-797) approval notice. Sometime it says that one needs to go out of country and get it stamped. In that case, USCIS won't attach updated I-94 with the approval notice.

In all other circumstance one can start working after requesting H1-B transfer. They don't even have to wait for approval.
