7th year extn based on LC as future employee

hello,

I am working for company A and my 6 year H1 will be done in a few months, I have company B which filed for my GC during my 5th year as a future employee (not on payroll) and I am eligible for getting the 7th year extn from this company.

question:
- Am I risking the 7th year extension approval as I am not on company Bs payroll when the 7th year is being filed for me?

note: I dont have an H1 from company B at all, just a GC application on time to be eligible for 7th year.

or is it better to switch to company Bs payroll ASAP by transferring my current H1 for a few months only and then apply for 7th year

Please advice if anybody has done this.

=== NO. you are clean. you can file 7th year h1 by transferring to new employer or extend using your current employer as long as you filed the gc labor 365 days earlier.

very smooth approach.
Please advice if anybody has done this.
