7th Year Extension H1b

Guys, I had applied for 7th year extension 4 months back.
There is no word about it being processed.
Meanwhile I got my EAD card.

1> How long does it generally take to get the H1B approved (7th year) Normal track.

2> Right not my past H1B expired 3 months back. I am not using EAD since I had applied for H1B extension.

How long can i go without using EAD and without getting H1b extension approved.

Same here, My H1B 7th year extension ND is Nov 5 2004. I do not see any movement, however i heard from my friend that you can be with H1B approval(Filed and in Pending Status) for 180 days
 
I am under the impression that once H1B extension is applied we automatically get employment authorization (different from EAD), which gives us the previllege to work, till they decide about the case. That is what my H1B exgtension receipt notice says. Hope this helps.
 
7th year H1 approved yesterday

My 7th year H1 is approved yesterday by California CIS. My petition was applied on Dec 10th.
