I have been in the US 6.5 years on a green card (marriage-based). I recently split from my wife (married 11 years). Can I apply for citizenship just based on having been here more than 5 years, or is being separated going to be a problem?

You are good to go man. Your divorse would not have any bearing on the case as you have lived together long enough to prove that your marriage was not used as a means to get the GC. Good luck man.
