Hello everyone, i'm new here and absolutely appreciative for all those helpful topics that everybody represents here on the forum.

I was granted asylum on Sept. 2001 and i applied for I-485 on December 2004, i received a notice from USCIS that says :
"it's taking 570 -600 days to process this kind of case".
can anybody tell me what i should expect before i really get my hopes up?
i know this is not an accurate time estimate but is it even close?
thanks and good luck to everybody

If you apply for GC in December 2004 ,you will wait atleast the next 2 years or more.
You have nothing to worry about or hope for right now.
Just relax and enjoy your life and start worrying about this when your turn comes.

thanks a lot for your reply, i'm sorry i'm new and i don't know what RFI and BIO stand for. but i can tell you that they never sent me anything anyway, just the receipt notice. why are they saying 570-600 days if it will take up to 2 years or more???

570-600 days are just generic numbers,I got the same message 4 years ago and I am still waiting.

Yes... the timeline quoted in receipts are always generic. It is best to go by the CIS posting on their website that is a more accurate picture.

Just out of curiousity...what did you wait 3 years before applying for your residency? You've added severals years of wait time to your timeline.

good question, i was not disperate to get my GC to tell you the truth especially after dealing with the INS throughout my asylum case, not a good experience at all. some of them are so mean and rude.

why you wait 3 years to apply I-485? You should apply in 2002!
