5 to six months out of the country

Hello

After getting my green card, since I was not ready to move to the US I applied for a re entry permt and entrered the US before the expiration of the re entry permit. But it looks like the immigration officer at the port of entry flagged my file for no reason. Because of missing documents to ask for my son's green card at the airport (born outside the US and it was my first trip with him back to the US), I was told to go to an immigration office and bring the missing paper. At the end my son got his stamp valid 1 year on his passeport but the officers told me that there was a note on my file and they did not understand why because I was entering the US with a valid re entry permit.

Is it normal?

Second question, I left the US january first 2013 and I intend to move to the US and work there by the end of June 2013 (so in a few weeks), and I am already scared to have problems at the POE. It will be less than 6 months without re entry permit but do I have to expect problems?

Thanks in advance for your help
Regards

Technically, you can stay out up to 1 year without loosing your green card. If your trip is only within 6 months you should be ok.

But you should always have a good reason for being outside the U.S. and have an intention to move to the U.S. for good.
