Hi,

Today I got a email from USCIS.
"On May 14, 2004, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to our office in DALLAS, TX for them to schedule and conduct your interview. Scheduling can take several months. Our office in DALLAS, TX will notify you when they schedule your interview or take other action on your case. If you need further information, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283."

The email only mentioned my Wife's SRC. But I checked the online status and both of us have the same message.

I have not changed company or address since filing 485.

Any idea why. Has anybody gone thru the same situation in Dallas TX. Also I checked the dates in Dallas, TX and it said processing cases with Receipt Date June 13,2003. Is this date the 485 receipt or the date the case was received by Dallas office??.

PD : Sep 2000
ND: FEB 2002
RD: MAR 2002
FP: JUN 2003

2 EAD for both me and my wife.

At least 10% of cases are transfered locally, some of them for no specific reason. It does not mean something is bad with your case. It seems that lately that percentage is getting bigger as they try to reduce the backlog at TSC by moving the cases to the local offices.

Hopefully you won't be waiting too long for your interview.

It seems thay have started cases with June 2003 fingerprints.

Yup.

Our cases were transferred to the Dallas local office and an interview was scheduled 3 weeks later. It was approved immediately.
As far as the reason, the officer herself was not sure why the case was transferred. Been in the same company and no job changes. Only an address change.
