485 transfer, necessary??

Folks,

My wife and I moved from Texas to Massachuettt last year. Our I-140 was approved at TSC, where our 485 are currently pending. My question is do we have to transfer our 485 from TSC to VSC? I merely remeber seeing someone on this forum mentioned this is a must after the relocation.across service centers.

Please share your expericence/thoughts, and clarification. Thanks in advance!
 
I don't think it is mandatory!!
I have moved from Texas to California last year. I happened to visit local service center to correct some information. That point of time, I have asked the IIO bout my case. She asked me if I want to transfer case from TSC to CSC. But I choose not to do any transfers myself.

But I don't know if they transfer the case when some body start working on my case!!

I think transfer is a random process. We have seen some cases transferred even though they lived at the same place for many years and the people who moved left and right got the approvals without transfers. It all depends on the time/lluck.
