Spoke to IIO today she was very kind enough in repsonding to my queries. She told me that processing time for 485 in Memphis location is around 18th months. I had asked her even though we filed at Service centers will they get transferred to local office, she said YES. Do you guys think this the real situtation for all 485 apps.

Don't take those words seriously

No matter good or bad. They don't have true idea what they are taking about or what's going to happen.
 
I think we need speak out that the delay of I-485 process is hurting US economy. Probably, we can do some survey to see:

How many people is holding their business plan due to unstability of GC situation? Therefore, how many job oppotunities are missed by such delay? Say 2000 I-485 filers are waiting their approval to establish their new companies, on average, 20 people will be hired by each of these companies, that will be 40,000 direct new jobs. Not that, these new businesses will push others expanding to hire more people. There are a lot potential indirect new jobs.

How many I-485 filers are holding their plan to buy house? Therefore, how many businesses are being hurt by such delay? Say 20,000 I-485 filers are waiting their approval to buy a house, on average, $250,000/house, that alone is more than $5 Billion. Besides, it will push construction and financy industry dramatically to generate more new jobs.

How many I-485 filers are holding their plan to travel oversee? Therefore, how many business could be added to airlines? That definitely will save the whole aieline industry.

Any body can incorporate such ideas to letters? Only benefiting America can make TSC move faster!!
 
I think US $ are stuck in h1 visa holders money market savings!!!
I am waiting for GC approval to buy a home, visiting parents in India, new furniture, car for wife ...
 
if they ever find out that all these h1-b visa holders are waiting for their GC to quit their jobs to start their own business, do you think they would approve any GC?
think about the thousands of companies that will suddenly loose their key employees if their GC is approved!!

Whoa, you aren't a CEO of some Fortune 500 company to afford all this on day2, if you get your GC approved on day1. Do you?:D

It may also depend on the "wife" in question I guess :D (Will she be ok with a Toyota or Porsche or Corvette..).

thanks for for the reply. I live in Nashville. My I 485 was pending for 20 at VSC and transferred to Memphis. It frustates me to wait another one year for the interview. I may have to move from this place soon. My current assignment ends in DEC2003. I am in serious lookout for the job. I don't know whant to do. Is there any way i can expedite interview scheduling process( like contacting senator etc. )? please share information whatever you know. If you know anybody waiting for interview at memphis center, let me know. Thanks.
