I see many postings on this board that Dependents (H-4 Visa) can apply for SSN based on filing for I-485 and obtaining a EAD Card.
My Wife is Currently on a H-4 Visa and has no Tax Id and Would like to apply for SSN based on filing for I-485
Could Anyone Explain if Obtaining a EAD Card is mandatory to get a SSN Number ?
