485 RFE\'s for amended I-140

anybody got an RFE for an amended I-140 and have their 485 approved? how long does it take to get amended I-140? and how long does it take to have 485 approved after INS receives amended I-140?

Waiting for 485 approval now that the modifed 140 was approved. Wonder how long CSC will take to dust off my application.

can u please post more details as when did ur cos\' merger actually took place ?

and when did ur I-140 redo process started and when was redo application ( I-140) actaully got approved ?

Original 140 was filed in the 1st week of May 1997
Company merger Feb 2000

Lawyer received copy of modified 140 approval this morning says probably was delivered on Saturday. She is going to send a copy of the 140 approval to CSC just in case.

This is what she emailed me last week:

Since we filed this I-140 in response to the RFE issued on your I-485, we shouldn\'t have to send a copy of the approval to the I-485 unit (the I-485 unit should already know about it), but I will certainly send them a copy just in case!

WAITING_MAN any update to your case ? Have you spoken to an IIO recently ?

I tried to call last week but unfortunately, I wasn\'t able to contact the CSC during business hours. It\'s really hard!!! I can only contact the CSC INS at night time and the AVM is still the same. I\'ve heard some of my colleages who works for the same company and the same situation (RFE 140 redo, during I-485 stage) got their\'s approved. Hope we received the same luck.

Can\'t the CSC INS add more trunk lines to accommodate more in coming alls?

Merger happening BEFORE or AFTER I-485 application. Does it have a significance on whether merger occurred before or after I-485 submittal?

if the merger happened after I485 filed, it may take 6 months to get amended I-140???

what if the merger happened before I485 filed? How long would it take typically?

The merger has nothing to do in the 140 approval time line. 140 redo is simply placed in the normal 140 pipeline (supposed to be FIDO). my 1st 140 filed in May 99 took 13 months, 140 redo filed in Feb 2001 took 2 1/2 months. In both cases it stacked up with the "current" processing times.

However if the merger happened after 485 has been applied for (In this case same company name was used as in 140 approval), there is a good chance of getting the 485 approved with out 140 redo if and only if you do not get a RE for company letter detailing job. All JMHO. I do not know how SC would be able to find about merger if it happened after 485 has been filed.

I had my ammended I-140 and got my I-485 approved on 04/11/2001.

PD : 04/99
ND : 08/23/00
FP : 10/22/00
RFE : 01/31/01 (FOR NEW I-140 WHICH I ALREADY HAD APPROVED)
485 : 04/11/01

DON\'T WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING. YOU WILL NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEM.
