485 RFE - for dependant only

ok gurus need ur help/advice here...i filed 485 in dec 2004, stuck in name check since jan 2005. got married, wife filed 485 in mar 2007, and on 8/25 we got a RFE for her...

So, if the RFE is successful accepted, will the office issue her a GC before me, even though she is a dependant OR she has to wait until my name check clears?

Hi Vik30000,

Dependent GC will not be issued before the primary GC is issued. It will be along with yours or later (in extreme cases) as far as I know. The dependent application is tied to the primary application.

hmm...i know a friend in VA and it happened with him, where his wife go the GC first...and it was an employment based petition...

also, if the wife is dependant on the husbands 485, then why send a decision RFE for the wife first? weird huh?
