485 receipt for H1 revalidation ?

Hi,
I just found out that if you have a valid H1b visa, then you don\'t need 485 receipt or AP for travel abroad.
But does anyone know, if a 485 receipt is required (if 485 is pending) for H1 revalidation (abroad)?

I guess most of us know, but Valid visa means a real stamp in you PP

I don\'t think you need to show more than you have to. If you are on H1b and you have visa stamped in your passport you don\'t need AP. AP is only if you don\'t have visa stamp. also if you re-enter USA on AP you have to have EAD. because without EAD you can\'t work even with the same employer.
