My 140 has been approved recently and my PD is current. However I am in a dilemma. I work in a research institute as a perm. employee and the job is grant dependent. My boss says he can support me for 18 more months and he can\'t guarantee after that (depends on new grant approvals). Based on the current VSC processing times, it\'s hard to say whether I would get an approval within next 18 months.
My question is, what happens if I am in the tail-end of my 485 and my employer can\'t support me any longer? Does the 485 processing stop? I know a thing about 180-day rule. It\'s kind of hard for me to find a job in my field (unlike software area). Are there any way-outs so that 485 processing continues if this situation should happen?
