Does any one has idea about how NSC is processing pending & retrogressed I-485s?

Will they process as normal with other (non-retrogressed) 485s and keep it ready for approval? OR Will they put those in abeyance (untouched) and resume process once PD crosses the cutoff date?

Can we expect the automatic-approval once the PD crosses the cutoff date?

It is common understanding that petitions that were effected from Retrogression(Cases that would not be considered for Adjudication untill their PD beocme current). that doesn't mean service centers completely stoped and not going to touch, service centers are processing normally as they are publishing their processing dates and any case that submited before their published date will be considered as active case, and only including FP+RFE+Adjudication review+all other requirement beofre adjudication will be perform normaly only thing is that case will be put on hold untill PD become current.

Also all cases have their own periorities and they calculated months before the case is actually touched/active.

All cases are search/review/line-up based on their periority every month before new bulletin is issued. or in simple way to understanding cases that were gone thorugh all FP+namecheck results/bk-check+RFE+other requirement and ready to adjudication and put on hold becz of PD are kept in seperate shelf. so they are not missing your case, even they are not in shelf they do have in their system.

If u are interesed more detail, You may wish to read "Standard 485 Procedure" PDF doc that link I posted many times(try to find if not post again I would try to search that link). And all other Service centers update bulletins/guideline that are pubklished and posted on diff immig related websites.

Good Luck

Still a question

How do we know that the name check is over on the case even PD is not current but filed long back. Is there any mechanism /method to know if name check was completed.
--- I tried calling USCIS but no answer
--- I went to local office but they don't have any information with them.
--- I sent email / letter to FBI , no reply till date.

Any other method ?

Somewhere in USCIS site I had read -- that the service center will continue to process the 485 even if retrogressed.

As soon as one applies for the 485 -- it seems to trigger some default processes like Biometrics / Name check etc ... But I doublt they are doing anything more for retrogressed cases --- as there are not many RFE in this area. I heard two or three retrogressed EB3 guys getting some sort of RFE... that might have signalled -- that they are taking up the retro cases too ... and the advancement of the "Now Processing Date" might even signal some positive light. There were some guys -- who enquired thru the congressmen / Senators -- and USCIS have had replied that -- the application is awaiting visa number. That was suggesting that -- it is ready to be adjucated -- and is just waiting for that magic number..

Well I think -- everything is unknown -- lets all hope for something good at the end of this process...

Have a happy new year and happy holidays.
