485 pending, H1 extension question

In 2000, I transfered my first H1 to F1, it took 9 months to finish this process, I was a full time student in this period. Are these 9 months counted in H1 6 year limitation?

Yes

As far as my understanding goes the limit is of 6 years for NI visas ( any type). Check with your lawyer also.
