485 interview scheduled has been canceled

Hi,
I am an US Citizen. My Parents are here on Visitor VISA and I had filled my parents I-485 @ Chicago center. I was constantly monitoring the status till it recently changed to the following status

"The interview scheduled in this case has been canceled. You will be notified if the interview is rescheduled."

We never received any Interview call letters.. I had tried contacting INS but did not receive a straight answer

If any one has any idea or experience of what this status means, let me know..

+++ INTERVIEW LETTER ++++ (throught marriage) please help

INTERVIEW LETTER…this is big!

Two of the people I work with who have filed for their spouses who are of foreign origin never got their interview letters and their cases have been denied (two completely independent cases)

After talking to one of them, he said that he found that this is a common occurrence. Is there anyway we can do to ensure it doesn’t happen to us? Those who have received their interview letters, did you status change on CIS’s website?

Please share your thoughts, ideas and experiences. THANKS!
 
Transfered to California

Just wanted to update guys who are concerned... Now my parents status and case is transfered to California. We are from NJ. When inquired they told me that for family based category most of the cases where interview is not required are transfered to CA as there is too much of workload in Newark NJ and Chicago.

Well I hope this is good for us... Let's wait and watch..
