Hi,

I had applied for my mom's I-130 in Sept 2009 while she was in India. I had indicated Consular Processing in the I130 petition then.
Few months later mom came to America on her visitor visa. I filed for her AOS (485) on the basis of the pending I130.
A month ago I received notice of 485 interview for my mom scheduled for April.
Then my mom's I130 got approved earlier this week. USCIS sent the I-130 approval notice to NVC.
NOW WHAT?
Do I notify NVC that my mom is Adjusting Status and thus cancel the CP?
OR Do we just show up for the 485 interview and let USCIS initiate the communication to NVC?

When you file the I-485, it is standard procedure for them to cancel the CP. So don't worry about the CP. USCIS already has taken care of or will take care of it.

Hello, I wish your mother's interview goes through smoothly and wishing you and your mother best of luck. I have a question for you, I had started the process of the I-130 for my mother and it looks like it is getting approved. After reading through you question I realized that you were able to send the I-485 during the I-130 process. I was hoping that you share with me your experience in regard to the process and what it needs to submit the I-485. I have been told that I need to submit a medical report, if this is true I hope you wont mind telling me how you did it and what should it show? In regard to the finger prints, do I have to send a finger print or will they schedual a time for my mother to go to be finger printed?

Cu015766,

In your case, you'll need to submit the I-130 approval notice or receipt notice along with the I-485 and related documents, because you didn't file the I-130 and I-485 applications together. I assume your mother is in the US?

Just to clarify:
I applied for my mom's AOS on the basis of the pending I130. The AOS interview has been scheduled since almost a month now.
When they approved the I130 last week, the I485 was already pending. Yet they sent the I130 approval notice to NVC.
It seems like there is some miscommunication going on...

Like JackO mentioned, you can apply based on the pending I130. Just use the I130 receipt notice.
You will have to go to a USCIS approved medical practitioner in your locality for the medical report. The physician will guide you through what is needed.
As for the finger prints....USCIS will schedule after you apply for the I485.
