485 filing while 140 in process

Folks, please tell me what are the pros and cons of filing 485 while the I-140 is still in process. I understand that it will cut short the total 485 processing time - however is there any downside to this strategy?? Also my attorney says that ADvance Parole and EAD could be filed along with the I-485 rather than after I-140 approval. So are the AP and EAD also approved at the same time as I-140 approval?? or one still has to wait for their regular processing time of AP/EAD approval after I-140 approval. What are the reasons that people would rather wait till their I-140 is adjudicated and only then file for I-485?? How do things change if one gets an RFE for I-140? Please clarify. All responses will be appreciated.

One downside to concurrent filing is that if the I-140 is declined, then you lose the filing fee for I-485 (and for AP and EAD if you had applied for that as well). The AP and EAD could be approved earlier than the I-140. If the I-140 is later declined, then the AP and EAD are revoked. Any other thoughts?
