I am on HI and my wife is on H4. My H1 is expiring in August and my company has applied for extension for my H1 and my wife's H4. Also, we have applied for her H1 in april. I just went to the USCIS Site and checked the status for my wife's H1 and it shows that the approval notice has been mailed on June 22nd. Her H4 is also approved on the same day - June 22nd. Does this mean she is on H4 status till oct 1st and moves over to H1 on oct 1st ? Just wanted to make sure we are not getting into 'status' issues. To complicate things, now that the priority dates have become current we are planning to file our 485 on July 1st and that will include the application for EAD/AP. If my wife chooses to work on EAD what do we need to do ? If she wants wants to use her H1 is there anything specific she needs to do ? Can she still work on H1 but go out of the country using AP ?
