On the USCIS website they said that :
Even if visa number is not availiable -- they will continue to work with the 485 application .... and once the visa number is availiable --- it was just one step process of attaching the visa number to the application and approving the same.
But some where in the forum -- a guy had done his check for his 485 status -
and he got this reply from Department Of Homeland Security
"I-485 application is pending the issuance of an immigrant visa number. Once visas become available, processing will resume on your application".
Does that mean -- they do just nothing if there are NO visa numbers ?
I mean even if the processing date has advanced much further than the RD ..... one will get RFE's once the visa number is availiable?
Loooks like even after the visa number are made availiable -- one needs to wait many months to get 485 approved !!!!
