485 differenct stages

Gurus,

What are the different steps/stages in 485 and how much time normally it is taking. I am about to apply for 485. If I start now, what is time frame I should expect. Thanks for you help. I have less than a year on my H1.

The wait is approximately 18 months. As of late (for last month), there has been speed-up in case processing.
INS has a goal to decrease waiting time to less then a year by the end of September 2000.
Last week INS announced a solw down for internal auditing and this should last for a week....
You should not be concerned that your H1 is expiring when you can use your EAD card for as long as you are in the process for GC.
Good luck, but maybe you should think about CP if it is not too late...

Thank you very much for the information. I thought of P. My company lawyer is scaring me saying that it is very high risk. I have 10 more months on H1. I have to apply for 8224(?) because my 140 is already approved. Is it too late now ...? Thanks one again - urn
