485 dependant filing - can I do it myself?

I am planning to file my 485 (as a dependant of my wife's Eb2-485 application, PD Apr 2002) by myself. Has any one done it without the help of a lwayer? Is it hard? I think I have all the required documents. I just need a good cover letter.

If there are any pointers to a sample cover letter, check list etc that would be a big help.

From past experience, I don't trust my wife's company lawyer to file it before August 1st (when EB2 becomes unavailable).

Please look at my other posting to your other message for the welcome notice and approval. Now I am thinking call USCIS directly and ask them to tell you if you can do follow-to-join benefits.
