I've read that people with H1 can maintain their status while pending 485. Is it possible for people to apply for H1 after using a 485 based EAD? Would that cause "abandonment of 485"?
The reason I'm asking is that I'm currently on F1 and won't be able to apply for H1 until several months later. But I would like to file 485 now based on an approved 140. That will probably nullify my F1 status, but I'm doing an internship that'll require EAD (not sure if I could still use the OPT based EAD).
I would really appreciate some input on this.
