485 Approved with maiden Name!! Help!!

Hello,

Please advice. My wife's 485 got approved after an RFE this last week. But it got approved with her maiden name instead of married last name!!. All her other documents (H1, EAD's, Social Security etc), except her passport are with her married last name.


RD: July 12, 2001
ND: Aug 23, 2001
RFE: Aug 26, 2002 for last name diff on passport and 485 App.
RFE: Recieved by INS on Sep 6yh, 2002
Approved with wrong last name: Oct 24, 2002

My lawyer is saying when we go for stamping, we should request the local INS officer to get the GC with her married name. Is that something which is doable ??

Any Input on this is appreciated.

You can go to Indian consulate and get her name changed in passport to be married name.
