485 Approved while outside country

Hi,

My wife's 485 application approved and she is out of coutry right now. She has a valid AP thou. Would it be a problem when she comes back to US.

No problem. she will be able to enter with her AP.
 
Will she get stamped at the port she enters or she has to go to the local USCIS office? She does not have her approval letter with her just the receipt of 485.

That depends. Keep in mind that POE is operated by BCBP which is a separate agency from USCIS. Many times BCBP does not know about the approval (or they don't care), hence let the person pass with AP. But if they know then she has to go thru differred inspection, where she will meet an USCIS officer and get her passport stamped (in many POE it's within the airport). Either way it is fine. At POE she does not need to volunteer any information (about approval) and just show AP. If she can er-enter with AP, then set an infopass appointment for her and get her passport stamped.
