485 approved when PD is not current

Hello Folks,

I have an issue here, my wife's 485 has been pending at Texas Service center since Aug 2007. We received an email today informing that it has been approved. For a moment we felt happy but immediately we realized that her PD is not current and it looks like USCIS approved it by mistake.

Please check my signature for case details.

485 filed as follow to join based on principal applicant's GC approval.
PD: EB3/OCT 2001/INDIA

When my wife called USCIS, they told her that this application PD is current, hence it is approved. But I cant believe it, as per latest VB, EB3 for India is June 2001. How come they approve the case when PD is not current.

I will go to local office once I receive approval letter, meanwhile I want to know any similar cases out there what was the outcome? I'm wondering, did they approve it when PD was current and forgot to update the case status? Any thoughts?
 
I wish that your wife's GC is approved. I too had a situation where in on-line status message says that my GC is approved but info pass agent said that the on-line status message is in-correct , but as of today they have not updated my status message.

This is a strange situation, I never expected this, I'm going to make infopass apptmt once I receive the approval letter.
We received one more email last night, confirming that card production ordered and should be received in next 60days. I have no clue how could they approve this case in first place when PD is not current. Only guess is,PD was current few months ago and they might have approved then and notifying it now. But again that is only a guess.. I believe it must be a mistake.

BTW, have you received approval letter and GC after the change in online status?

No , I never received any confirmation email or letter . This message showed up when they switched to new website format. When I called the service center they told me to apply for a new card (as the old one was never received) , but I took infopass appt, they confirmed that my case is still pending and that the on-line message is in-correct. They said they will write to service center to fix the error in on-line message , but nearly six months after I went for Infopass, I still see the same message that says my GC is approved.

We received one more email this morning confirming the approval and card production, my wife called USCIS again, when she explained about the case, first they congratulated her and said that GC has been approved for sure and no PD required for this case since it is a derivative (FTJ), when she enquired for the PD of the principal (my case), they refused to provide the details because PD info belongs to sponsored company and they cannot provide such details.

We are just waiting for card & approval letter to arrive so that we can go to service center, I hope infopass tell us whether it is a mistake or a valid approval.

Got three emails today on 03/23/2010 from CIS it says on 03/22/2010 they approved my application and I called customer service yesterday and they had no info on it I dont know why they even have a cusotmer service when thet cant provide any info

Hello guys i just mailed my and my wife I-485 to TSC when i came home i found out that in Current USCIS Status of my wife i put asylee since she is derivative asylee ,do you think it makes any difference,i m just worried little bit,thanks all
