485 approved (RD: Aug 2004) Question about "card"

I got an approval e-mail for my I-485 yesterday. It was approved on 6/11/05. RD was 8/19/04.

FP were done on 3/31 (Code 3 with biometrics). Should I be getting the plastic card in the mail or would I have to go and get a passport stamp? I have not gotten any other e-mails about cards being ordered so far. Should I expecting such an e-mail in next few days?

If I have to go for passport stamp, how long does it take to get the card in the mail..

Gurus, any input...

Congratulations and enjoy the approval! My spouse and I filed in Aug 2004 too. Hope we will also get the approvals soon!

Did you mean the email was sent yesterday, or it was sent on 06/11, but you didn't see it until yesterday?

The e-mail came on 6/13/05 at 5 AM but it said that they mailed me an approval notice on 6/11/05 (Saturday). Sounds like Vermont is putting extra hours in.

I applied from upstate NY.. I am hoping that I would get another e-mail for the plastic card as well... but if I don't... Anyone has any idea how long it can take to get the card after passport stamping. I do not have a priority date issue. Thanks and hope you get your approval soon.

Hi Fallman - Its the computer batch program which sends the emails and so don't even dream USCIS working on a weekend, where working on weekday itself is a big deal :).

My case too got approved on June 14 and it doesnot talk abt the card:

This case has been approved. On June 14, 2005, an approval notice was mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.

My question, should we call the VSC and ask them?

Sorry to sound stupid but I am not really sure. I am a physician and went through Labor certification... I want to say it is EB 3 but may be wrong. Based on the information that I provided you, you may be able to figure out..


I am going to wait to see what is in the approval notice before I call them. My attorney tells me that if the Biometrics did not pass "quality control", it should say in that notice for me to go for infopass and stamp..
 
Got another good news today. Thought that I share it with everyone.

Got an e-mail today saying that my plastic card was mailed to me today. I do not have to worry about the stamp anymore.

In addition, got my 485 approval notice in the mail as well.. That also clearly stated that a card will be directly mailed to me. I guess my attorney was correct in saying that the approval notices are different depending on your situation.
 
It depends on how long it will take for each state's city office to process ordering cards.

If I were you, I would definitely go for stamping and then relax.
 
Plastic card received

I received the GC for me and my wife and without error's :)

EB2 or EB3

Hi CARP, are you in the EB2 or the EB3 category?

Anyone who had RD of September in EB3 who has for approvals recently?
 
I got my cards in the mail today.. All in all very quick after the approval.

Good luck to all you guys waiting. These forums have given me lot of useful information..
