Hi Gurus,

My 485 approval notice says the following

" The above application has been approved. Prior to receiving your permanent resident card you may be required to report for biometrics processing (photo/finger print/signature). Please do not take any action this time. If you are required to report for this processing, you will receive another notice advising you of the date , time and location to appear.

If you have not received your card or the above mentioned notice to appear for biometrics processing within 60 days, please call this office at the number listed below."

My finger printing everything was done in 10/01/2004

Situation is - My son ( age 7 ) got tickets to travel end of this month to India. Will they stamp the passport now with this notice as proof?

Please help and thanks in advance folks

For the ones who are visiting this thread

I got an infopass appointment and went for stamping, stamping done as well the biomertics also done. cool and easy

Hi rg..
Me and my wife also received similar notice..I talked to my attorney and she said that no need to go for PP stamping right now and wait for biometric notice..
What do you suggest, should we go for PP stamping or wait for biometric notice...????
Will appreciate yr experience....

Are you travelling?

I have read somewhere it is not neccessary to go for stamping and they are not doing stamping unless you are travelling in a short time.

Also read somewhere the passport stamping might trigger your plasctic card, so I went for stamping eventhough I had similar notice. The officer did not say anything she took the index finder print and signature, collected the EADs, APs, I 94s, I485 approval notice, two Passport size pictures I had and stamped the passport. And I see LUD changes for the past two days..

I guess if your finger printing is done in less than an year time ( mine was done 10/01/04 ) you may not get a biometric notice, you will directly get the card, not for sure. Even if you get the biometrics thats fine.

Take infopass for you and your spouse and give it a try for stamping. Good Luck

can u clear my doubt

hello there,
first of all congrats for the gc. i saw in ur footer that u'd applied thru the employment category eb2?? but the overall time taken was really short.?? what exactly do u do(if i'm not peeping too much into ur privacy??) and normally is this the time taken by the officials for processing the employment based GC, i always thot that spouse GC was the least time taking. i'm a doctor and will be joining residency in us on h1b.do u consider similar situation applicable in other cases as well??
