485 approved for my Wife but not mine (Primary)

My wife 485 has been approved today but not mine. I am primay applicant. Called NSC she told me my file has not approved yet but getting transferred to storage as if it is adjudicated. Any idea about what's happening?

I thought that is impossible.
It could also mean that yours is approved too but there is just delay in status being reflected.

Check if your LIN number is greater than your wife. I have heard the processing happens in sequence and if your number comes first than your wife's and there is a large gap in both numbers, there could be delay in approval.

I am the primary applicant and my wife's is derivative.
I got approved but my wife's status is still the same.

I do not think so, mine and my wife's number differ by 20, and we got approved at the same time and she got the card earlier than me. I think they do not have such sequence or anything like that.
But I am sure you will get the approval notice soon, some adjudicators are lazy to update the system.

winterspring, Do you and your wife have different last names? Someone posted that in case of different last names it may happen (that may be a mistake by USCIS as primary should be approved in order to approve Derivative case), may be you will get approved soon.

That's impossible - that is, the derivative getting approved before the primary applicant.

Two scenarios are possible here:

(1) Yours is also approved - it is just a matter of hours (or days) before the system updates your case info.

(2) USCIS has made a mistake, especially if your wife has a different last name than yours.

Either way, you might want to set up an infopass appointment to clarify this.

Same thing happened to my close friend...( wife's last name different from primary) ...

His wife's application got approved 2 weeks ago... She received approval notice and card with status showing derivative E27.. .his is still pending

He is calling TSC IO almost everyday... everybody is accepting that its a mistake but they can do nothing about it.. and that he has to wait and don't know till when..
He used EAD but his wife was on H1B, now she is forced to use GC. TCS IO also told him that if his case gets rejected for some reason, then they both will be out of status... they have no status to fall back to...

Take an infopass appointment and see if they can contact TSC IO. Other than that, there is nothing much you can do... just sit and wait...

Visa number assigned for my wife(derivative) not for me

Visa number is assigned for my wife(derivative) not for me. How can i make them to approve the green card for her even if they are just awaiting visa number assigned to me.

I don't want to lose this opportunity and i would be happy if one of us get the green card atleast and i continue to fight for the green card and issuance of visa number
