485 approved, derivative pending

Hey everyone,

My 485 was approved on May 11, 2005 (I140 EB1-OR was approved in December, 2004), and I got my permanent resident card last week. It was filed on March3, 2005. Quite fast by historical standards.

My wife's 485 is still pending (filed at the same time). The latest online status says that results of fingerprints were received on April 16, 2005, but nothing for over a month. Does anyone have any idea of how long it could take for the pending 485 to get approved, given that the primary applicant's 485 is already processed and approved. Could there be a name check issue which might explain the discrepancy? I am trying to eliminate issues that might explain why my 485 got approved and my wife's remains pending.

mine is the same case. I filed 140 in March 04 and filed 485 for me and my wife in April 04. My application got apporved on 8th February 2005 and I received card in May 1st week. But no news about my wife's 485. When called emergency number, I found out that her name check is pending. So that could be the reason for your wife's case as well.

Thanks. Anyone else have a similar experience?

If this is a name check issue, my wife's approval may indeed take some time. I wish we could do something about this pathetic name check process.
