I got my I-485 approved through WOM. Today I got the Welcome Notice from USCIS saying that my 485 was approved and should expect the physical card in 3 weeks. However, during my entire 485 processing period (4 years!), I was never asked to give photo shots at the biometrics appointments. All my biometrics were just finger prints (Code 1). Is this normal? My lawyer said they could use the paper photos I submitted when I file the application, but I highly doubted that.. Is there anyone knows something about this?

BTW, my case is a really ooold one. See signature below

Derivative Case
PD March 2003. EB2 NIW
I485 RD May 2005.
WOM filed Sep 2009
2 FP both code 1

got the card

Got the card last week. They indeed used the photo I submitted with I-485 application to produce the card. So my lawyer is right.

If counting from the date my husband submitted his I-140 (EB2, NIW), which is March 2003, it took us a total of 6 years and 7 months to get the cards for both, among which 1 year and 9 months were spent on approval of I-140, and the rest were spent on I-485, among which which 3 years were spent on FBI name check for me and my husband respectively.

Just for record.
