485 approved but 140 pending

All,

This is a useful forum. thanks for info.

Applied for I-140 during April 2004 and I-485 during August 2004.
Got approval for I-485 for self and family and also completed I-551 stamping in passport.

However, my I-140 is still pending. Made couple of inquiries thru attorney and also cheked the status online. Only the date got changed in website but no status change.

Also my attorney received info from CSC stating that I-140 application is pending review and additional system checks. Attorney thinks this is a mistake and made another inquiry.

Question(s):
a) What does the system check means?
a) Is there anything to worry now?
b) In the worst, if my I-140 gets rejected, then what are my options?

Any insight on this greatly appreciated.

while I cannot answer your question directly, I had seen an attorney comment on the fact that if a spouse's I-485 gets approved before the principal's I-485. In that case he mentioned the spouse's I-485 would remain approved even if the primary's would end up getting denied. He mentioned there would be some court ruling on that.
I'd have to search long to find where that info was however.

dont worry about I-140 it will get approved soon, same happens to one of my friend and after 2 days I-140 got approved.

Now enjoy the freedom............................

Here is my situation.. Got I-485 approved and also completed stamping in passport on May 04,2005.

LUD on I-140 is May 10, 2005. No change in status though.
I think this change may be cause of inquiry by my attorney.

I'm really worried.. This whole GC process is killing us..
