485 Approval Status

Hi

Online Case Status shows that my 485 has been approved on July 29th and the notice was mailed. Neither me nor my lawyer have received any notice till day. The message says if its not received within 14 days to call and check the address. I was wondering if it takes so long for the notice to be received.

Congrats............

Call USCIS , & select option 1,1,5 to speak with customer service people to make sure you have right address (if you have changed address few months ago). They may forward it to Immigration officer Or wait for 1 more week.

I changed my address few months ago. it was not updated properly in 485 file.
i did not receive my courtesy copy of i 485 approval notice. I went for stamping with Attorney copy.
Then i called INS (option 1,1,5) & spoke with immigration officer to know where my plastic card will be sent.

please write all your Notice date , REceipt date, FP date of your i 140 / 485 application & service center that can be used as data to others.

I have the same issue.

My I -485 was approved sometime in July 2004 and I did receive the courtsey copy, which I took to the local INS office and got my PP stamped.

But few days after I received an email from INS saying that a written notice sent to me was returned as undeliverable pls call NSC, the same day another email came saying that document prepared based on approval was directly mailed to the person who applied. I called up NSC and they said that they have mailed the document to my update address which was on their record since last oct,2003. I had updated my address few days after I moved.

Since then I have not received any mail. I was out on vacation for a week and had to put a hold request for my mail at local post office.

So is it possible the mail may have been returned again or lost ?? Does any one have any idea what document has been mailed ...and if I do not recieve this mail what would be it's effect ??

I-140/I485 filing date 14 nov, 2002. No RFE. Labour substitution case.

Can you tell me what is the online case status for your case now? Since I got this weird case status information: On 7/29/04, the document we made based on tha approval or registration of this case was mailed directly to the person to whom issued. Later I received a second FP notice which was mailed to my old address and returned to INS then remailed to my new address on 7/29/04. I went for FP last Saturday, now the online status was changed to the result of my FP review was received. I don't whether my case was approved or not yet. Thanks in advance for your reply.

********I guess it was mailed to my old address and then was returned Undelivered and the following message showed up on case status.********

I did contact my lawyer several times. They havnt rcvd any notice so far. I am still waiting for my mail. No clue as whats happening to my approval notice. I dont understand approx. how long it wud take for us to receive the mail once the case staus shows that it has been mailed.

Notices are not always mailed on the day the status claims. Mine said it was mailed on a Friday, but the postmark revealed it wasn't actually mailed until the following Monday and I didn't get it until Weds. that week. They say to wait 14 days. Realistically though you should get it within a week of when they claim it was mailed. (BTW, my lawyers got the one day before I received the courtesy copies. They are in So. CA, I am in No. CA).

I got my approval on July 29th 2004 and have my Passport stamped on Aug 26th 2004. Now the case status is changed as follows

"On September 14, 2004, after approving your application, we ordered you
a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready"

My GC was filed at VSC. How long will it take for me to get my plastic card.
