485 approval notifications on email

I just wonder how some of you got notifications of 485 approvals over the email, I don't think my email address was mentioned anywhere during the 140/485 filings. Please shed some light.

You have to create an account in USCIS.gov Then you get the chance to add your cases to your portfolio and request to be e-mailed whenever there is a change in the status of your case. You also get to see the famous LUD changes even when there is no change in the status.

sorry for this dumb question :)
I went to the link that you suggested, but it doesn't ask for any "WAC#" or "Case#". I wonder how they link my account with my pending petitions. Please advise.
Note: I didn't create any account yet as I am still waiting for receipt notices from INS.
 
You have to create account with regular user name and password. And later, when you log in, you can create your own profile. There you give the EAC/LIN/WAC numbers and keep in your profile. You may say Email on/off, then you will get the notification by mail. You need the WAC number to create the profile. You can have one for EAD, AP, 485 seperately.
