Our I-485 applications were approved at the end of Oct.., though exact AD is unknown yet. Thank you so much for all people here
sharing great information and experience here. I appreciate all those in this forum. But I have a problem now with the approval -
feeling sorry for those who are still waiting...

I am now on a business trip abroad, and my family also visited our home country. My wife wants to stay here by the end of this year.
But the lawyer strongly recommends(compels?) us to return for passport stamping ASAP. I will fly back to U.S. this Saturday, but
issue is for my wife and my daughter.

Q1. How soon should we get passport stamping and apply for the plastic card? Somebody told me within 6 months, legally. Is this
true?

Q2. Can anybody advise us if we really need to return ASAP?

Q3. Can I get my wife\'s and my daughter\'s passports stamped without their presence?

I am looking forward to your advices. Thanks in advance!!

I-485 ISSUE...the 180 days pendency is determined from which date, receipt date or notice date?

Hi,
My I 485 receipt date is 25th june 2001 and the notice date is 15th aug\' 2001. I have received my advanced parole document but I haven\'t received my finger printing request and EAD as yet. Based on the law that I can change my job after 180 days filing of I-485, which of the above dates would be taken into account for the calculation, receipt date or notice date ?

hi austin,

Congrats man. So finally they got the finger prints. Good.

It is better to get the passport stamped as soon as possible why take a risk but i do not really know how long one can wait.

Enjoy!!!!

Hi Newton

Thank you!! I believe once your FP done well, you will also get approval. I will have my passport stamped ASAP, but my wife wants to stay here 8 more weeks and get hers/our daughter\'s stamped. We spent a lot of money for the flight and we don\'t have any more money to buy another round trip ticket between USA and Korea....-.-;;;
I wish your good luck and soonest approval...:)
