Hi ,

Got Emails saying my 485 is approved!! wifes case is still pending.
My history :)

485 + 140 filed concurrently Oct 2003.
Finger printing Mar 2004
I140 approved Sept 2004
485 RFE for BC for spouse & mine.
Nov 2004 RFE responded.
Waiting started...
Feb 05- Sent an enquiry & learnt my case in name checks.
Sent a letter to FBI to expedite case
FBi responded & completed name check for me..
Mar 05 Contacted Senator as per Desi145 advice (Got response saying wifes case pending name check & adjudication will happen only after namecheck complete for wife)
Contacted USCIS requesting for expediting case (USCIS responded case is under System checks)
Contacted FBI again for Wife for expediting name check .. (No response yet)
Mar 31 - Got Laid off...(Luckily got a month notice)
Apr 1st Joined another company New company Did H1 + agreed to do AC21.

Finally Approved !!!!!

I'll still be around fighting for my wifes case since name check is still pending for her :))

this gives me hope for my case as well.
My case is similar to you. I got reply from FBI that our name checks results were forwarded to USCIS on March 5. I called emergency line after a week and a person told me that our name checks are cleared. But after few days, I called again, then I was told that our name checks are still pending.
Can you please share what did you do when you received similar response from USCIS.
ALso how many LUD's did you have between receiving name checks and approval?
I would appreciate any advise from you.

Question on case expediate

Congratulations to LS_2004!

To expediate case, it seems that some conditions are needed to be applied. I'm wondering why can you easily to ask FBI&INS to expediate your case?

Hi Mkot,
I called emergency number every week & got the same response as you said. Contacting the senator as per desi145's advice helped me know that my case was actually clean & my wife's name check was holding my approval too. Barbara Boxer's office gives a response for your case in a week's time.

I agree. I didnt have a valid reason for expediting my case but my letter was a simple request. I didnt mention any specific reason why my case should be expedited

I didnt address to anyone. I just sent it to Records division. The reply was from email from David hardy. I sent via ExpressMail.

However one disclaimer - The same steps didnt work for my Wife's case :(
I tried the exact same steps Sent via express mail + sent it via Regular + Fedex + Fax + Email. No response yet.

But for sure its always worth giving it a try rather than doing nothing..

What date was your name check requested by USCIS and when was it completed by FBI?

Not surewhen FBi requested the name check. But it was cleared on feb 14 2005
