485 Applied - Need advice please - making a trip to India!

Hi,
 Applied for 485 in VSC July\'2001 (EB2 , RIR) and will be FPed on 12-Jan. I am the primary applicant and have a valid H-1 till Sep\'2002 and hence did not apply for EAD & AP. But wife (on H-4) has both EAD and AP approved. We are planning a trip to India in Feb\'2002. My wife will be using AP for the travel whereas I intend to use my H-1. Basically we will complete our FP and take a month vacation and be back by March\'2002 - well before the final Approval (hopefully! - I am an optimist :-) )
Does anyone see any "red flags"/"must do\'s" in this scenario? I am looking for things like "One should do this at the port of Entry/Departure for this kind of situation" ....
 
Plan It!!!!

You must have received a Finger Print Schedule for Jan 18 02. If possile, go even before that.

Your wife do not have any problem as she has EAD and AP. Even you don\'t have any problem. But you are still in H1B.

I know you are an optimist, but with the layoffs and less job security, you don\'t want to take a vacation until necessary. Sometimes if People come back from vacation, they let go.

Finding another Job with only 4-5 months valid H1B is highly impossible and you know that.

As you have waited so long, wait for 3 more months, you must get your GC approved by MAR - APR 02.

Get the GC and enjoy the vacation.
