485 application releated

My wife converted herself from H1 to H4 last year and has not stamped her visa yet. I am due to apply for 485 and I140 soon.
Does my wife need to stamp her visa before applying or we can proceed without it. If we want to stamp it, it may take another 4/5 months or we should go to India for this purpose. Can someone confirm to me if we can go ahead without her stamping and produce valid Ins records of her new status.

Post this in the 485 section-

but as long as she is not leaving US, she is in status if you have the status change approved by INS. She will need either AP or a new visa stamped before she can leave US and re-enter.
