I received a letter from USCIS writing that my 485 application was on hold due to no visa availibility.
My priority date is April 23, 2001. The Visa Bulletin for October 2005 says the cutoff is March 2001. I guess I am close... My fingerprints, medical examinations were also complete.
My wife's 485 application was also returned since my application is also on hold. (Her application is follow-to-join)
I have three questions:
1. How long after there is visa availibility for my priority date until my case is approved?
2. How many steps, in my case, after visa availibility until I get my green card?
3. My wife will file again as soon as my priority date is published on the Visa Bulletin. Is this "on-hold" situation a problem for her? What I mean is, if I am approved before she submits, follow-to-join wouldn't be successful, no?
