485 Application mailed on Friday June 29th!!

The lawyer mailed my 485 package on Friday and says that my application should go through.

Is date of application the date you mail it, or the date they receive it?

Even if it the date you mail it; would mailing it on June 29th be for the month of June and not July?
 
Any ideas on what date USCIS uses, the date the application is received or the date it was mailed out?
 
isha11 .. the way I understand and read around, USCIS is looking at the day they receive the app. They clearly say, starting July 2nd, USCIS will stop accepting any more AOS applications.

Unfortunately, this means that they will reject your application package.

Just learn't from my attorney that My I-140 & I-485 applicatiuons were mailed out to be received today by the USCIS. My filing was concurrent, therefore not sure whether they will reject the whole filing or just I-485 applications.

In any case guys, don't loose sleep over this issue. Since you can't control these things, don't worry about it.

Have nice July 4th Holiday.
 
for concurrent...

For concurrent, I read somewhere (I think lawyer's website) that if you had paid the 140/485 fees by seperate checks, they will accept 140 and send back 485. If not, they will send the whole think back.

It is the date on which they receive your packet.. Not the day you send it... And in light of the new circus rolling into town, looks like they will send your packet back.

My application was mailed on 6/29 also. You are probably right (new circus etc.). My lawyer has said to be patient for at least 2 more weeks before things clarify and we get a better idea of their real intentions...
 
Mailed June 30th

Since my PD was current, my lawyers fedexed I140/485 on June 30th.

Lawyers said they dont know what will exactly happen but most likely the application will be returned, since it reached on July 2nd 2007
