485 Application for my wife

Hi -
I have a question about filing 485 Application for my wife . My 485 Application has been filed from Vermont Service Center in March of 2004 my Priority date is July 2003 . My wife is currently on H4 status and i want to file a 485 Application for her with 485 retrogression in effect can i file 485 application for my wife . Will the application be accepted and will she get an EAD ? .Please let me know ASAP so that i can file her application.

Your PD would be applicable to your wife also.
If the PD is not current, her 485 will not be accepted - it doesn't matter that your 485 is pending.
Each 485 is independent.

Some people have gotten lucky and uscis has accepted it by mistake - so you can definitely try.
But don't keep your hopes too high -- expect that they would not accept it when you send it.
You only lose the money for mailing charges (AFAIK, they won't take the 485 filing fee if they reject the application on PD basis).
